The latest statistics show that in the first five months of this year, the national steel output reached 606 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. Among them, the growth in demand for industrial steel is particularly prominent. In the fields of automobile and home appliance manufacturing, the output of cold-rolled thin plates reached 20.057 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. At the same time, the fields of machinery and equipment, metal containers, and shipbuilding completion have also achieved a significant increase, which has effectively boosted the demand for related industrial steel.

At a steel trading company in Beijing, there is a long queue of trucks picking up goods. The person in charge of the company said that this year's business has improved significantly compared with last year, and industrial steel has become the main force of current sales.

Exports also performed well. In the first five months, my country's net crude steel exports exceeded 50 million tons, an increase of nearly 9 million tons year-on-year, and the export growth trend was significant.

Experts pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the acceleration of the new industrialization process has promoted the in-depth adjustment of my country's steel demand structure, and AI technology has continued to empower the steel industry. At present, among the six "lighthouse factories" in the global steel industry, Chinese companies occupy three seats, and another 29 steel companies have been recognized as national-level intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories, leading the industry towards green and intelligent directions.
