The author learned from Shougang Shuigang Sales Branch that the Hami-Chongqing ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project (referred to as the "Xinjiang Power into Chongqing" project) was successfully put into operation and power transmission recently. The Chongqing section of the project is 62.7 kilometers long, and the total amount of galvanized steel strands required is 7,000 tons, of which 4,500 tons are processed with Shuigang steel as the parent material, accounting for more than 60%.

The "Xinjiang Power into Chongqing" project is the first UHV DC transmission project for the "Shagohuang" new energy base in my country to be put into operation and power transmission. It is also the first UHV DC receiving project in the southwest region. Construction started in August 2023, and the line passes through high mountains and valleys. The harsh natural environment places extremely high demands on engineering materials, especially galvanized steel strands must have high strength and deep drawing characteristics to withstand severe cold climates and strong wind vibrations. The No. 65 and No. 70 coiled hard wire products produced by Shuigang fully meet this high standard demand.

To ensure that the supply task is completed with quality and quantity, Shuigang Sales Branch works closely with the Technology Center, Steel Rolling Division and other units, and communicates closely with relevant parties to strictly control every link and process standards, laying a solid foundation for the stable operation of the transmission line.
