The latest statistics show that in the first five months of this year, the national steel output reached 606 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. Among them, the growth in demand for industrial steel is particularly prominent. In the field of automobile and home appliance manufacturing, the output of cold-rolled thin plates reached 20.057 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. At the same time, the fields of machinery and equipment, metal containers, and shipbuilding completion have also achieved a significant increase, which has effectively boosted the demand for related industrial steel.

The author learned from Shougang Shuigang Sales Branch that the Hami-Chongqing ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project (referred to as the "Xinjiang Power into Chongqing" project) was successfully put into operation and power transmission recently. The Chongqing section of the project is 62.7 kilometers long and requires a total of 7,000 tons of galvanized steel strands, of which 4,500 tons are processed with Shuigang steel as the parent material, accounting for more than 60%. ​
